Vienna – MARRI and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) have formalised the continuation of their long-standing cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on 4 May in Vienna. The Memorandum was signed by MARRI RC Director Angela Boranieva and by Sedef Dearing, Deputy Director General and Director of Migration Dialogues and Cooperation at ICMPD, reaffirming a trusted partnership between the two organisations.

The agreement marks an important step in further strengthening collaboration in the field of migration governance. It reflects a shared commitment to enhancing regional cooperation, supporting evidence-based policymaking and promoting practical and forward-looking responses to evolving migration challenges.

Building on years of successful cooperation, the Memorandum provides a structured framework for joint activities in areas of mutual interest. These include, inter alia, capacity-building, exchange of expertise, development of policy-oriented initiatives and support to regional dialogue processes. Through this framework, both organisations aim to contribute to more coordinated and sustainable approaches to migration management across the region.

The partnership between MARRI RC and ICMPD has consistently demonstrated the importance of cooperation in addressing complex migration dynamics. By aligning their efforts and leveraging their respective expertise, the two organisations will continue to support administrations in strengthening systems and practices in line with regional priorities and broader European developments.
