On 26th April 2012 at Sofia International Airport, Bulgaria, in the framework of the
Project “Joint comprehensive approach in building co-operation between MARRI and SEPCA Member States’ border police on international airport border crossing points, a Workshop on the topic “Current irregular migration trends, routes and modus operandi at the international airport border crossing points” was organized for the members of the Permanent Inter-Regional Working Group/Network for Cooperation consisted of Commanders of the Border Police Units from main international airports.
The event was organized in partnership with the Bulgarian Border Police and SEPCA.
The Main objective of the Workshop was to discuss about current irregular migration trends, routes and modus operandi on the international airports and to develop recommendations for sustainable solutions..
FRONTEX, Swiss Federal Office for Migration and PCC SEE Secretariat participated to the workshop as well.
The Project is funded by the Swiss Confederation with co-funding provided by MARRI and SEPCA.
