MARRI Regional Centre organized the Fifth Joint Training under BORDAIRPOL II project on 26th October 2017, in Budva, Montenegro. Titled “Advanced level training for the detection of falsified documents/travel documents security and setting up regional standards for biometric data processing”, the training was designed to assist police officers to build capacities in travel security and enhance the skills in detection of falsified documents, particularly those needed for fulfillment of the compulsory standards.
Experts from Swiss State Secretariat for Migration (SEM), FRONTEX and INTERPOL presented EU and international experience as well as the best practices in the fields of air and land border policing. Also, FRONTEX Head of Air Border Sector Claudio KAVRECIC, presented the new Regulation on the European Border and Coast Guards that stipulates extended possibilities of conducting Joint Operations in third countries, primarily targeted to the Western Balkans region.
Commanders of the International Airports and Heads of the land border Sectors from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Kosovo*, Romania and Serbia contributed to the success of the training and presented their experiences and practices in dealing with detection of falsified documents and biometric data processing.
