On 28/29 April 2011 in Durres, Albania, MARRI Regional Committee and MARRI Ministerial Regional Forum took place. Guest to this event was the Hungarian EU Presidency.
The Albanian and Serbian delegations were represented by the Ministers, H.E. Bujar Nishani, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Albania and H.E. Ivica Dačić, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. The other MARRI MS were represented by the Deputy Ministers or Directors.
The international organizations FRONTEX, SECI/SELEC, SEPCA, UNHCR, ICMPD and IOM attend the event, presenting the mutual activities with MARRI or their activities oriented to the region.
The MARRI Committee was dominated by the one-year work report of MARRI RC and the operational as well as financial issues.
The MARRI Ministerial Regional Forum adopted the Durres Declaration. This event marked the end of the Albanian MARRI Presidency-in-Office and the beginning of the Serbian MARRI Presidency-in-Office, for a one year period.
