The 31st Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Board meeting took place on 15th March, 2017 in Sarajevo. The meeting was chaired by Secretary General Goran Svilanovic who elaborated the Report on implemented activities within the period September-December 2016 and presented plans for future activities.
Under the Board Agenda topic Activities of other regional initiatives, MARRI RC Director Tamara Mugosa was invited to present reform results, implemented projects and future plans.
Svilanovic stressed that RCC highly appreciates the change management of MARRI and its higher level of engagement into the regional and international activities. He has also valued presented activities expressing hope to have better use of MARRI.
The Chairman of MARRI Committee and RCC Board member, Pavle Jankovic praised the achievements, assessing that MARRI has been notably re-energized pointing out respectable dynamics of initiated reform process that continued under Serbian Presidency-in- Office. He used the occasion to draw the attention of the Board Meeting participants to the fact that MARRI is truly all inclusive and regionally owned organization.
Ambassador Jon Ivanovski, member of MARRI Committee and RCC Board reiterated that being the host country the Republic of Macedonia is investing additional efforts and it’s placing great importance to the further development of this regional structure.
Herbert Pribitzer from European External Action Service (department for Western Balkans) emphasized that for the EU all-inclusiveness of MARRI is extremely important value and expressed appreciation to MARRI for this achievement. He also said that the EC will continue having close cooperation with MARRI, particularly stressing that it recognizes its efforts and accomplished results.
On 16th of March MARRI delegation also participated at Third Meeting on Donor Coordination. The meeting was the occasion for the government representatives, donors, financial institutions, implementing agencies and other stakeholders to present ongoing and planned actions.Participants actively contributed to the first panel discussion on economic development as well as on needs and priorities for upcoming period. Within the second panel participants tackled issues in regards to the Public Administration Reform, Rule of Law, freedom of expression but also current security challenges.
By closing the meeting the RCC announced that Data base on donor assistance was available at its web page providing information on donor activities and implementing agencies in SEE.
