On 24th November 2015, in the MARRI RC premises in Skopje, a meeting dedicated on finding possible modalities for safer and more efficient transport of vulnerable migrants between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia at Tabanovce-Miratovac was held
the organization of this meeting came after intensified discussion between MARRI and GIZ office in Skopje.
On the meeting were present officials from:
- The Republic of Macedonia – Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and Crisis Management Centre Commissariat;
- The Republic of Serbia – Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs and Commissariat for refugees and migration;
- GIZ Office in Skopje;
- UNHCR;
- IOM;
- NGOs dealing with migration (Astra – Belgrade and La Strada – Skopje).
The meeting was divided into two parts, the first part was dedicated to the presentation of the national systems of coordination of the migration crisis by the authorized bodies in the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia and the second part was directed towards the idea to help the migrants who fall into the vulnerable groups: physically disabled people, pregnant women, and elderly people.
